This summer, LIFTS kicks off the Summer Institute with keynote speaker Ryan Powers to talk about trauma-sensitive leadership.

What: New during this summer’s institute: A special 2-day symposium titled: Weaving trauma-sensitivity into school leadership! 

Based on requests from many districts and school leaders, LIfTS is offering professional development for site-based or districtwide administrative leaders to design Safe and Supportive Trauma-Sensitive Learning Environments.

Participants will explore ways to:

• Create a shared understanding of trauma's impact on learning 

• Sustain school culture and climate of equity and belonging

• Improve student learning, behavior, & wellbeing

• Integrate academic and social/emotional initiatives

• Identify urgencies and align strategies

• Develop an action plan that supports school/district priorities
